Rental Day Charges
The customer is responsible for the daily charge of the phone from the day the phone is picked up until the day we receive it back unless it is shipped (see that policy below). If the customer picks up the phone before 12 PM Mountain time Skycall will charge for the full day, if it is picked up after, the customer will be charged for a half day. This also applies to the day the phone is returned. If the phone is received by Skycall before 12 PM Mountain time, the customer will be charged for a half day, any time after 12 PM, the customer will be charged for a full day.
The Customer is responsible for shipping costs both ways. Rent starts the day the customer needs the equipment at their door and ends the day before it is received by Skycall back in Salt Lake City. Whenever possible Skycall will ship the equipment using the least expensive method of shipping. We typically ship FedEx and insure the phones for $1,000. The phone must be signed for, so if the customer might be absent when it arrives, Skycall recommends shipping it to a business or to the closest FedEx store.
The customer is responsible for the safe return of all equipment. Rental costs will accrue until equipment is returned, and the customer will pay for any lost or damaged equipment. The equipment is and shall remain the property of Skycall Satellite. The customer agrees to keep the equipment in the supplied case whenever not in use. The customer will not attempt to open the equipment electronics enclosure or housing with intent to alter, view, repair, or any other purpose without prior approval from Skycall Satellite.
The customer will not use or operate the equipment in any illegal manner or for any illegal purpose. It is the customer’s responsibility to immediately notify Skycall Satellite if any of the equipment is lost, damaged, or stolen. It is also the customer’s responsibility to keep Skycall Satellite advised of the changes to the equipment general location. Skycall Satellite reserves the right to inspect the equipment at any time during the term of this agreement.
The total airtime charges are determined by the amount of minutes during which the equipment is in use for outgoing and incoming calls. On outgoing calls, charges commence when the send button is pressed. Unanswered incoming calls are not charged. The total number of airtime minutes used will be represented on the Skycall invoice for telephone service from the time the customer takes physical possession of the phone to the time the equipment is returned to Skycall Satellite. Usage is rounded to the next minute with a one-minute minimum. If payment is made by credit card, the customer authorizes Skycall Satellite to charge payments due under this agreement to customer’s credit card account with or without notice to the customer.
We understand that plans may change. Please show us the courtesy of keeping us updated on those changes. We reserve the right to charge your account a $25 FEE FOR LACK OF CANCELLATION.
Skycall Satellite has contracted with Globalstar, Iridium, and Inmarsat for the satellite telephone service to be used in conjunction with the satellite telephone. Skycall Satellite makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, as to the merchant-ability or fitness for any particular purpose of the equipment or the satellite telephone service. Neither shall Skycall be liable for any direct, special, consequential, or other damages in connection with or arising out of the furnishing, performance, or use of the satellite telephone by the customer.
Skycall Satellite warrants that each item of equipment will be suitable for normal operation and use at the time of delivery. The customer acknowledges that Skycall does not guarantee uninterrupted service and shall not be liable for the inability of the customer to complete telephone calls due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Skycall Satellite.
Terms & Customer Rights
The customer acquires no rights to the equipment other than the use of it. In the event that the customer violates the terms and conditions of the equipment rental, or that the customer has furnished Skycall Satellite with false information, Skycall may immediately terminate the agreement with the customer, whereupon the equipment will be promptly returned to Skycall and all charges in connection with the agreement shall be immediately due and payable. Skycall Satellite may terminate the agreement and disconnect the telephone service at any time with or without cause.
